OK guys, i thought it would be fun for us to get a quiz going between us.
Basically, ill start off with a question on whatever topic i like. If you know the answer, post here and then add a question of your own. When your question is answered, that person will also post there own question, and so on and so on!
So, first question:
Name 3 PRE-MARIAN Roman units from RTW
General_Vladimir
Mmmm wonderful stuff Johnny :cheer: I love this idea
The three Pre-marian units: Hastati, Velites and the Triarii
Proposed quiz:
Who was Thermistocles and to whom was his allegiance?
confused_johnny
Thermistocles was, i believe, a General, or at least had some form of power militarily, and as he was Athenian id guess that was his allegiance!
Who commisioned Filippo Negroli to make the first "bulletproof" vest, and in what year?
confused_johnny
Hmmmm, was my question to hard?
Or no-one interested in a Knowledge quiz that varies so many subjects?
If no-one posts im guessing a straight up quiz dont appeal, otherwise im guessing my question is to hard so ill change it, or declare victory!

I tried Google which sort of worked. So I'll post my half-guess answer.
Francesco Maria della Rovere commissioned the vest.
It was in 1538.
I'm guessing it failed though.
confused_johnny
Correct, correct and wrong!!
Right person, right year, wrong outcome!
Post a question then dude!!

sry I interrupt, no way they did that? it is the stupidts thing ever they done.. hahahaa was ther bombs on them? then it make more sence
General_Vladimir
Well you see, the Russians used dogs as anti-tank weapons against the Nazi's. It was easy to strap explosives on a dog and unleash it to blow up a tank, then have the weapons. But you see the Russians were stupid, because they trained them to find food while starved under Russian Tanks, not german. Thus, the dogs blew up there own tanks xD
Question: Which Legion of the Roman Empire was the last, and what became of it?
confused_johnny
Very, very good question!
I know that in the fictional story The Last Legion, the Legion is referred to as Dragon Legion, but thats fiction and im sure not what your after!
Other than that, i havnt got a clue! I was thinking the Legio IX Hispana, who dissapeared from Spain area towards the end of Roman era, however individual soldiers are still mentioned in history from the Legio IX as being active in politics, councils etc.
So, at a guess, the Last Legion was the Legio IX Hispana, and it was disbanded towards the end of the Roman rule in or around Spain??
Or fiction wise it was Dragon Legion, who were lost in Britain for hundreds of years after Caeser failed to capture the island, only to be rediscovered as the last surviviing legion, and i think they were beaten by King Arthur, with the Sword of Caeser going into a stone and moss covering the "Sword of Caeser" inscription somewhat, so that when looked at it reads "Excalibur" in Latin!
There my only answers i can think of, both probably wrong, but meh..
