Hail Warriors and everyone else!
I got to thinking, as a warm up to the season, and to keep everybody sharp, most sports have friendly games. So i was thinking we could apply that to us and our allies, by arranging a tournament.
It doesnt have to be anything official, like with awards for winning or anything, it can be used as a way for WOT and our allies to "reacquiant" with each other. I mean, all of our allies, and indeed us, have gone through member changes, so a tourney would be a good idea to bring everyone together and you get to know the new members of our allies, as they do us. It also will help cement friendships, and add a feeling of brotherness.
Now this tourney can be of any set-up, singles, teams, high money, low money. It can have faction or unit restrictions, or even pre made armies with or without deployment opportunities.
Im more than happy to create, advertise and to do whatever it needs to start and continue the tourney, and hopefully by the end of it we will all have made new friends and strengthened old bonds.
Everyones opinion is welcome on this matter, from trainee through to Emporer, all input is greatly appreciated as it will help make the tourney more appealing to a wider range of people.

Sounds great, I think a good setup would be 2 matches per game. One with hosts rules and money but he has to pick his faction first and obviously vice versa. Also maybe a third match on 15k CWB if they both win 1 match each. _________________

Wonderful Idea Johnny! I think it is an absolute awesome idea especially with my university holidays coming up and christmas holidays. I think that sounds good what you's both said. 3 matches though I think, and whoever wins the most they win that battle on the 'ladder'. What we need to do is create a ladder as thus that will correspond with the people playing, and it will look wicked!
Also, we should make it various types of denarii type. If this is on Rome: Total War, then we should make it maybe 20, 25, 15, 10? A variety of those the people can choose I think.
As Emperor of our clan I think that the rules should not be CWB. Thats not to say that the idea was good about the rules being CWB, but we should find an alternative rules that would be fun, alternating and have variety. Many people such as OTD do not favour CWB rules. I say we could make it custom, for a fair game with fair armies.
So wonderful lets get it happening but we must have a large consensus within the Warriors of Troy and then communication with others before we have it finalised.
OK, so far we have a mutual agreement that each "match" should consist of 3 battles, with the player recording 2 wins winning the "match" overall.
The rules/denarii for the battles are still up in the air, but these can be finalised. What about, as Emporer Vladimir suggested, we create a new rule set, then the first battle of every "match" has to be played using these rules. Whoever loses that battle gets to choose rules/denarii for next game, and then if needed other person chooses there rules/denarii for the final battle?
As an idea for the rules, what about something along the lines of:
22500 Denarii per player
Max 7 same unit
Max 3 Horse/Chariot archers
Max 8 Cavalry
Also, what about a rule stating that for each "match", you cant use the same Faction twice?
As an idea for a ladder type set-up, what about if all the lower ranks from each clan occupy the top of the ladder, working higher through the ranks of each clan as it gets lower on the ladder.
Each person can only challenge the person directly above them in the ladder. This then will enable the lower ranks of every clan to play the higher ranks of every clan, as well as allowing the higher ranks of each clan to play each other without it turning into them dominating the top.
To challenge, you post on the thread "calling out" the person above you, and whoever posts first plays first.
Example, Nunaronas is top of the ladder, CommanderMax below him, Dafuge below him, Quintus below him, then me, then Emporer Vladimir.
Now obviously i wanna challenge Quintus so as i can move up the ladder, but before i can post saying that, Vlad posts saying he challenges me. I now have to play Vlad first.
If you lose a challenge, you cant challenge the person who now occupies your spot until they have had another battle, however you can be challenged by people below you still.
Set a time limit for each "match" to be played within after challenge is made, like 3 days max to play your challenge or it becomes defunct.
If you are challenged twice and twice you dont make the "match", then you lose your spot on the ladder to the person challenging you. This will then stop the tournament stalling due to other peoples inactivity.
You could maybe even set up a points table alongside, with players earning 1 point every time they move up the ladder, 3 points for hitting the top of the ladder and 5 points for winning a "match" whilst at the top of the ladder. The person who then reaches say 100 points or something is the overall winner, and we will have the points table to look back on and see how each person performed overall in the tourney.
Well, i think im starting to ramble a bit now. I hope i made sense here with all his, and i look forward to hearing everyones opinions on these suggestions.
For now, i think im gonna get a few ales in the Trojan, post some screenies, then hit the sack!
I don't like the ladder idea, I'd rather have the higher ranks start at the top, or the best player, through votes/mini FFA. Because the lower ranks would quickly be knocked off the top unless they have some supreme skill, and are thus in the wrong rank, or they are the luckiest people ever. _________________

Yes, but then the lower ranks wont get many chances to play the higher ranks, which is where they will improve the most.

Well, again, to be knocked from the top, the higher ranks will have to pass through the lower ranks, thereby enabling them to play each other, and why not use it as an opportunity to maybe draw some attention to the improvements you might have made and maybe earn a promo.
I was thinking that way everyone will mingle with everyone else, instead of higher ranks towards the top constantly and lower ranks further down. Undoubtedly it will end up like that, but by then everyone at the top will have had to have played and beat everyone above them (lower ranks), that way our recruits get to play HELLS Magogs, HELLS trainees get to play our Legionary Centurions etc, and everyone improves and gets to meet everyone else. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/TheConfusedJohnny

I like the idea of a ladder tornament as i would be nice to play other clans.
So count me in.
And i would prefer lower ranks at the top, that way we wont go straight to the bottom quick and have some chances to stay at the top.
