These rules are an excerpt from http://www.miydai.com/index.php?topic=355.0 our friends, Miydai (previously Generals Collective) who have done MP campaigns and are very experienced at it. Also in here will be added our own information, some from the previous posts with the rules.

BE SURE TO READ THESE RULES!! ANYONE WHO BREAKS THEM WILL BE PUNISHED SEVERELY AND WILL BE BANNED FROM THIS FORUM AND IF IT IS A Warrior Of Troy, THEY WILL BE DEMOTED FOR DISHONOURABLE CONDUCT!!! IF IT IS AN ALLIED OR FRIENDLY CLAN, THEIR LEADERS SHALL PUNISH THEM AS THEY BEST SEE FIT

* Do not cheat. Cheating may be but is not limited to: Looking at other players' turns when not allowed, saving and reloading games for the purposes of avoiding ambush or to obtain ill-gotten tactical information, repeatedly gifting a city to another faction or the AI for the purpose of giving said faction the resultant free troops, abusing the diplomatic system by asking the AI for large amounts of money and then betraying them, or generally dishonorably exploiting the gameworld rather than employing strategy.
* Sometimes it may be necessary for one player to substitute another. During such events, the new player must play with the new faction's best interest in mind.
* It is understood that agreements are as absolute as the players make them.
* It is understood that everything posted in the context of the game constitutes roleplay and do not represent actual friendships etc.
* Each player have 48 hours of reserve time to play his turn. Past 48 hours any alliance member may play the player's turn. 72 hours after the previous players turn, anyone from that clan can do their turn. If the player wishes to skip, then it shall be skipped.
* In full vanilla games (18 players), the victors are the last four factions standing. These may be in the same alliance or may not. In smaller games there might be fewer victors. All victors in official games will earn a Victor's Medal. The single player remaining after a game will earn a Triumph Trophy and entry into the Great Conqueror's Histories.

* It is not allowed to give regions back and forth for the purpose of generating free troops. This is an example how it may not be used: HRE gives Denmark all of its regions but the capital, and then Denmark gives all the regions back. As a result, both factions gets an assload of free troops that can be used.

But note that the give region feature is allowed to use, as long as it is not in an abusive manner. You can transfer a region to a faction once, and after that it is not allowed to transfer it back to you ever through diplomacy.

From Miydai Wink

Each player will play a turn, then upload it in a post or through a PM. Each player also needs to write a report after each turn. Not a long one, and not too in detail, the other players don't need to know everything you did. But you must include such items as:

successful assassinations if it involves another human player,
ships sunk if it involves another human player,
battles fought if it involves another human player,
diplomacy reached if it involves another human player.

Why is this? The way this script works won't provide you with the alerts on the left as the single player game will. The reports will make up for it.

Each player will be given 24 hours to complete this. This will hopefully give everyone enough time as well as keep things moving at a steady pace. If someone fails to submit their next save by the deadline their turn will be played by the AI. It would be preferable to be done in the post when it is sent.

So that's basically what you need to do each turn. Now for the DON'Ts.

Things NOT TO DO
Do not manually play any battles, regardless of whether or not you're fighting the AI or another human player. The reason is that the AI is very stupid and any attackers will immediately have an advantage. We dont' want that. All battles must be autoresolved.
Do no iniate any diplomacy with any human player that has not been agreed upon beforehand via the forums or private message. This should be obvious.
Do not cheat in any way. Oh jesus, please don't.
Do not take other people's save games or look at other people's turns. BAD BAD BAD!!!

Players, please just follow common sense and make this game the most fun for all of us. Anything that allows you an unfair advantage is automatically against the rules. By joining this game, you are automatically sworn to obey all these rules. Failure to comply will be met with SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES!

About Diplomacy:

Diplomacy can be done in any which way. There are no rules concerning diplomacy except those stated above. You may form alliances, protectorates, whether in the actual game or just on the forums it doesn't matter. It can be done via forums, PM, email, IM, or in person.

If an alliance wishes for a private forum, they can contact me ([WOT]{{E}}General_Vladimir) or another administrator and we will provide it. To make an alliance "official", just make a thread in this topic, and it will be.

However, an alliance can have only a max of 4 players, to prevent any "super alliances". There are team wins, but only 4 players can win the game. There can be interteam alliances, such as 2 alliances that choose to work together. You can be part of more than one alliance, but strictly speaking, only 4 players can win the game. So if there's an alliance with 4 players and 1 defector from another team, then someone must go before the end of the game.

Those are the rules and must be adhered to. If you have any problems with these rules, or would like something added, please contact a Senior Ranking Warrior Of Troy immediately.

Cheers! Cheers! Cheers!
